S.R. 763 Slide Repair Projects Set To Begin
Schedule requiring back-to-back, two-week closure
Chillicothe (Friday, July 8, 2016) – Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Brown County Highway Maintenance Facility will undertake a pair of slide repair projects on state Route 763, requiring closure of the route this month and next.
On Monday, July 18, ODOT crews will close S.R. 763 at the 11.7-mile marker, between Township Road 24 (West Fork Road) and the intersection with S.R. 353/125, where they will be repairing a slide along the shoulder of the route by installing a series of drilled shafts.
The closure will go into effect at approximately at 8 a.m. Monday, July 18, and it will remain in effect until 4 p.m. Thursday, July 28, or until all work is completed.
Following this project, the maintenance crews will move south to the 1.5-mile marker to repair a slide that is located between T.R. 350 (Lawwill Road) and T.R. 246 (East Fork Road), immediately north of C.R. 31 (Martin Hill Road). This second project will begin Monday, August 1, and continue through Thursday, August 11.
While the route is closed at either location, motorists will be detoured via S.R. 41, U.S. 52, U.S. 62/68 and S.R. 353, and the schedule to complete both projects will be contingent upon the weather.
