S.R. 852 Bridge Repairs On Tap
Chillicothe (Monday, April 14, 2014) – As part of the ongoing U.S. 52 rehabilitation project west of Portsmouth, state Route 852 will be reduced to one lane in each direction at the U.S. 52 overpass.
On Tuesday, April 15, crews from Complete General Construction will impart lane restrictions at the bridge over U.S. 52, between the Carl Perkins Bridge to Kentucky and S.R. 73/104 North, for repair and resurfacing.
Traffic will be maintained in a minimum of one, 11-foot lane in each direction, and this phase of the project is anticipated to be completed by early summer.
The entire project, which began last year, includes rehabilitating 13 bridges, replacing guardrail and resurfacing U.S. 52 from Township Road 569 (Old U.S. 52) to the Scioto River bridges, S.R. 852, S.R. 73/104 from just north of the S.R. 239 junction to the Second Street bridge at Portsmouth, and the on/off ramps at the interchanges.
The Complete General Construction Company was awarded a contract for approximately $12 million to complete the project, and all work is anticipated to be completed by mid-fall of this year.
