S.R. 134 Slated For Daytime Closures
Highland County ODOT Crews Tackling Culvert Replacement Projects Next Month
Chillicothe - In preparation for an upcoming resurfacing project, state Route 134 will undergo a series of culvert replacement projects beginning in early April, and the route will be subject to daytime-only closure when operations are under way.
According to Transportation Administrator Dan Nartker, there are 14 deteriorated culverts situated between state Route 138 at Buford and U.S. Route 50 at Dodsonville which need to be replaced.
Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Highland County Highway Maintenance Facility will be working from approximately 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays as weather permits, with the first project scheduled to get under way at the 5.26-mile marker, just north of Buford, on Monday, April 6.
As the project progresses, operations will continue to move north each day, from the 5.43-mile marker, south of Township Road 406A (Rosselott Road) to the 11.92-mile marker, south of Township Road 115A (Shaffer Road).
Throughout each replacement project, the route will be closed, and motorists will be detoured by way of either state routes 131 and 138 or U.S. 50 and S.R. 131. All work will be contingent upon the weather, and all of the culvert projects are anticipated to be completed by April 17.
