S.R. 505 Closing Today For Culvert Work
Chillicothe (Tuesday, April 6, 2010) – State Route 505 in Brown County will be closed today for another culvert replacement project.
As part of a series of such projects, crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Brown County Highway Maintenance Facility are replacing culverts along S.R. 505, between U.S. Route 52 at Higginsport and S.R. 125 near Hamersville.
Throughout the week, the route will be subject to single-day closure as crews will be replacing pipes between County Road 42 (Skiffsville Road) and C.R. 293 (Barr School House Road) as weather permits. Today’s project is situated at the 2.89-mile marker, south of Township Road 288 (Williams Road), and the closure is expected to be imparted by 9 a.m.
Each day that a culvert replacement is under way, the route will be closed from approximately 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., reopening to evening and overnight travel. During periods of closure, motorists will be detoured via U.S. Route 52 at Higginsport to S.R. 133 and S.R. 125 in Clermont County. The schedule for each single-day closure will be contingent upon the weather and the availability of materials.
