S.R. 505 Scheduled For Closure Next Week
Back-to-Back Culvert Replacements On Tap
Chillicothe (Friday, May 27, 2011) – A pair of single-day culvert replacements has been scheduled on state Route 505 in Brown County, and the route will be closed two days next week.
Weather permitting, maintenance forces from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Brown County facility will close the route on Wednesday, June 1, at the 1.99-mile marker near C.R. 43 (Shinkles Ridge Road) to replace a deteriorated pipe.
Then on Thursday, June 2, crews will close the route again to replace a deteriorated culvert at the 0.68-mile marker, just north of Higginsport. Both culvert replacements are in preparation for an upcoming resurfacing project.
On both days, S.R. 505 will be closed from approximately 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., with the route open to evening and overnight travel. While the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via U.S. 52 to S.R. 221 at Higginsport to S.R. 125 at Georgetown.
