S.R. 73/104 Southbound Ramp In Scioto County Now Open Pike County’s C.R. 28 Reopens Today
Chillicothe (Friday, July 23, 2010) – State Route 73/104 South in Scioto County is now open to traffic following its closure as part of the ongoing bridge rehabilitation project over Hygean Run at West Portsmouth.
The route, which runs below the “Ramp D” bridge overpass and carries traffic to downtown Portsmouth via Second Street, was closed this week while crews from the Righter Company removed the bridge deck of “Ramp D.”
The Ramp D structure, which is situated on the ramp from S.R. 73/104 North to U.S. Route 52 West, continues to be closed for its rehabilitation, and while this and its access ramps from S.R. 73/104 and S.R. 852 are closed, traffic is being detoured via state Route 239 and U.S. Route 52.
The Righter Company of Columbus, Ohio, has been awarded a contract in the amount of approximately $861,650 to rehabilitate the bridge, and the scheduled completion date for all work is October 30, 2010.

Major operations for a bridge replacement project on County Road 28 (Loys Run Road) in Pike County are wrapping up today, and the road is being reopened to traffic this afternoon.
Crews from the Parker Corporation of Tuppers Plains, Ohio, have replaced the deteriorated structure that was located at the 4.73-mile marker over Loys Run, approximately one-half mile west of the C.R. 28’s intersection with state Route 104.
With only minor finishing work to be completed, there should be little to no impact to traffic, and all work is expected to be done by August 15.
The Parker Corporation was awarded a contract in the amount of $293,234.30 to complete the project.
