S.R. 772 Culvert Replacement Project Scheduled
Chillicothe - State Route 772 will be closed for two days next week while Ohio Department of Transportation Ross County crews replace a deteriorated culvert.
According to Transportation Administrator Mike Darbyshire, the route will be closed Thursday and Friday, April 9 and 10, for maintenance crews to replace a pipe at the route’s 12.70-mile marker, south of Chillicothe. The project site is located approximately one-half mile south of County Road 175 (Liberty Hill Road).
“This is one of many such projects that we have been undertaking on the route in preparation for a resurfacing project this summer. While we have attempted to limit traffic restrictions to single-day closures during daytime, operational hours, this project will require a full two-day closure due to the size of the culvert,” said Darbyshire.
The closure is scheduled to go into effect at approximately 9 a.m. Thursday, April 9, and continue through 4 p.m. Friday, April 10. While the route is closed, traffic will be detoured by way of state Route 104/U.S. Route 23 and County Road 167 (Blain Highway).
Currently, S.R. 772 is closed at the 8.15-mile marker, just north of Township Road 169B (Baptist Hill Road), and the route is scheduled to be closed again tomorrow, April 2, at the 13.60-mile marker, approximately one-half mile north of Liberty Hill Road.
Both of these closures are for single-day culvert replacement projects, with the closures in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the route open to evening and overnight travel.
