Salyers Road Undergoing Bridge Replacement Project
Loys Run Bridge Replacement On Tap to Begin Next Month
Chillicothe (Friday, April 9, 2010) B A bridge replacement project is slated to begin on Township Road 315 in southern Pike County, and contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will close the route next week.
On Monday, April 12, crews from Baker Concrete Construction, Inc. will close Salyers Road to replace a deteriorated structure situated over Camp Creek and located at the route’s 0.57-mile marker, approximately one-half mile south of state Route 772.
“This is one of several local preservation and infrastructure projects that we are undertaking this year, and it is a vital part of our efforts to improve our network of highways and bridges,” said ODOT District 9 Deputy Director James A. Brushart.
Throughout the 90-day closure, motorists will be detoured locally by way of state Route 772 and County Road 22 (Camp Creek Road), and all work is scheduled to be completed by July 31, 2010.
Baker Construction was awarded a contract in the amount of approximately $314,720 to complete the project.
In a separate project, County Road 28 (Loys Run Road) will not be closed to traffic until early May, when crews from the Parker Corporation begin a bridge replacement project at the 4.73-mile marker, approximately one-half mile west of the roadway’s intersection of state Route 104.
Once started, this project will continue through August 15, and while Loys Run is closed, motorists will be detoured locally by way of C.R. 21 (Sunfish Creek Road) and C.R. 24 (Bethel Hill Road).
