Closure to be in effect Friday night
Chillicothe (Thursday, June 12, 2014) – Due to
weather-related issues earlier in the week, paving operations on the S.R. 348
Scioto River bridge at Lucasville have been postponed by one day.
Contractors for the Ohio Department of
Transportation were scheduled to close the route tonight, June 12, at 10 p.m.
in order to pave the bridge where a rehabilitation project is under way. However, inclement weather this week has caused
delay for the contractors and their subcontractors, thereby pushing the
overnight closure back a day.
Weather permitting, the closure will now go into
effect at 10 p.m. Friday, June 13, and continue until approximately 4 a.m. Saturday.
While the route is closed, traffic will be detoured via S.R. 104 North to
S.R. 32 East and U.S. 23 South.
and Sands was awarded a contract for approximately $2.6 million to
rehabilitate the four-span structure that is located
immediately east of S.R. 104 and just west of U.S. 23. Throughout construction, S.R. 348 is
being maintained in one lane with temporary signals.
