Denver Road Project Set To Begin This Month
Chillicothe (Friday, June 06, 2014) – Construction
for a bridge replacement project will get under way next week on County Road
47 (Denver Road) in Pike County.
Contractors for the Pike
County Engineer’s Office and the Ohio Department of Transportation will close
Denver Road at its 3.0-mile marker in order to replace a deteriorated
structure over Clines Chapel Run. The project site is located between C.R. 35
(Prosperity Road) and C.R. 33 (Clines Chapel Road),
and construction includes replacing the existing steel beam bridge with a
pre-cast, reinforced concrete box culvert.
A 90-day closure of the
route is scheduled to go into effect Monday, June 9, and while the route is
closed, motorists will be detoured via local roads.
Boone Coleman Construction
of Portsmouth, Ohio was awarded a contract for approximately $313,231 to
complete the project, and the scheduled completion date is August 31, 2014.
