Weekend Closure Of Scioto-348 On Tap
Chillicothe (Monday, May 5, 2014) – With a major bridge
rehabilitation project on the Scioto River bridge at Lucasville moving forward quickly,
contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation are gearing up for the
next major phase of construction.
Crews from Shelly and Sands will close state Route
348 next weekend between S.R. 104 and U.S. Route 23 in Scioto County in order to
switch traffic patterns and re-establish the maintenance of traffic plan to
the opposite lane of the bridge.
The closure will go
into effect at 6 p.m. Friday, May 9, and continue until approximately 4 a.m.
Monday, May 12. While the route is closed, traffic will be detoured via S.R.
104 North to S.R. 32 East to U.S. 23 South.
entire project calls for rehabilitating the four-span structure by replacing
the deck, approach slabs and roadway approaches. Throughout major construction,
S.R. 348 is reduced to one lane, and traffic is being maintained with
