Series Of Culvert Replacements On Tap For Brown-131
Daily Closures Slated Next Week
Chillicothe (Thursday, July 12, 2012) – A series of culvert replacement projects will get under way next week on state Route 131 in Brown County, with the route subject to daytime-only closure each day.
Beginning Monday, July 16, and continuing throughout the week, crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Brown County facility will close S.R. 131 at various locations to replace four separate deteriorated pipes. The project sites are located at the 4.37, 6.38, 6.39 and 7.27-mile markers, respectively, which are between the route’s intersection with U.S. 68 and the Highland County line.
The route will be closed from approximately 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day, with it open to evening and overnight travel. During periods of closure, motorists will be detoured via U.S. 68, S.R. 286 and S.R. 134 in Highland County, and completion of each project will be contingent upon the weather.
