Signals Being Activated For Ross-50 Bridge Project
Chillicothe (Tuesday, July 19, 2011) – With a bridge replacement on U.S. Route 50 in Ross County under way, contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will impart additional lane restrictions within the construction zone this week.
Crews from Shelly and Sands Construction are replacing a bridge located at the 36.79-mile marker on U.S. 50. The project site is located between County Road 207 (Vigo Road) and Township Road 219 (Dixon Mill Road), just west of the Vinton County line.
On Thursday, July 21, temporary signals will be activated, and following this, crews will then install concrete barrier wall on Friday, July 22. Throughout the project, traffic will be maintained in one, 12-foot lane.
Shelly and Sands, Inc. has been awarded a contract for approximately $2.78 million to replace the bridge and reconstruct the approaches, and the scheduled completion date is September 30, 2012.
