Slide Repair Project Set To Begin On Ross-50
Chillicothe (Friday, February 26, 2016) – A project to reconstruct a section of U.S. Route 50 in Ross County is set to begin, with lane restrictions going into effect next week.
Crews from DGM, Incorporated will be rebuilding and stabilizing a slope at the route’s 37.45-mile marker. The project site is located between the intersections of Township Road 219 (Dixon Mill Road), approximately one-half mile west of the Vinton County line, and the contractors will be using benching and embankment reconstruction to correct the landslide area. The project also includes minor pavement, conduit and guardrail construction.
Crews are set to begin Monday, February 29, and throughout the project, traffic will be maintained in one, 11-foot lane with the use of temporary traffic signals.
DGM, Inc. of Beaver, Ohio, was awarded a contract for approximately $397,493 to repair the slide, and all work is scheduled to be completed in early summer.
