Slide Repair Slated For Brown-505
Route To Be Closed Later This Month
Chillicothe (Tuesday, March 4, 2014) - A slide repair is set to begin on state Route 505 in Brown County, with contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation imparting a closure of the route next week.
Crews from the Alan Stone Company will close S.R. 505 at the 0.16-mile marker, which is just north of the route’s junction with U.S. Route 52 at Higginsport. The project includes the removal of the existing piling and the construction of a 595-foot drilled shaft wall along the east side of the route.
The 90-day closure is scheduled to go into effect on Monday, March 17, and while the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via U.S. 52, S.R. 133 and S.R. 756 in Clermont County.
Alan Stone was awarded a contract for approximately $334,964 to complete the project, and all work is anticipated to be completed in early summer.
