Slip Construction Set To Begin On Lawrence-141
Route Will Be Closed To Traffic
Chillicothe (Tuesday, June 11, 2013) – Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation are preparing for a slip repair project on state Route 141 in Lawrence County, and the route will be closed to traffic early next month.
Crews from the BBR Drilling Company are tentatively scheduled to close Lawrence-141 on Monday, July 8, in order to repair a slip located at the route’s 16.46-mile marker.
The project site is located immediately north of the route's junction with S.R. 775 at Wilgus, and construction includes installing a 124-foot plug-pile retaining wall along the south side of the route, as well as pavement and shoulder reconstruction.
Throughout the construction, the route will be closed, and traffic will be detoured via S.R. 775 in Gallia County; a local detour will also be established.
BBR Drillling was awarded a contract for approximately $169,866 to repair the slip, and the project is anticipated to be completed by early fall.
