On Lawrence-522 Forces Lane Restrictions
Chillicothe (Thursday, May 8, 2014) – Additional
traffic restrictions are in place on state Route 522 in Lawrence County following
a slip last week near the 5.47-mile marker.
Heavy rains contributed to the landslide
that occurred last Thursday, May 1, along the shoulder of the route’s west
side between County Road 41 (Buckhorn-Superior Road)
and C.R. 27 (Little Pine Creek Road). Although
the route has been open to traffic, it is now reduced to one lane, and
traffic is being maintained with temporary signals.
Engineers from the Ohio
Department of Transportation - District 9 offices are working on an emergency
construction project to repair the route; however, the signals will be in
operation until such time that the project can be designed and built.
