Slip Repair Project Set To Begin On Adams-52
Chillicothe - A slip repair project on U.S. Route 52 in Adams County will begin later this month as the Ohio Department of Transportation’s 2009 construction season gets under way.
“Signaled by orange barrels, temporary traffic lights and flaggers, the construction season is here, and while these projects do create an impact to motorists, they are necessary to maintain the integrity of our routes and for the safety of the traveling public,” said ODOT District 9 Deputy Director James Brushart.
According to Brushart, contractors for the department will be repairing a slide at the route’s 4.62-mile marker, which is located between County Road 11 (Ginger Ridge Road) and Manchester.
Weather permitting, the project is scheduled to begin Friday, March 27. Throughout construction, the route will be reduced to one, 12-foot lane, and traffic will be maintained by temporary traffic signals.
“Although we strive to keep workers and motorists safe in construction and maintenance zones, it is important to remind drivers that they, too, need to exercise additional caution when traveling in work zones,” added Brushart.
DGM Incorporated of Beaver, Ohio, was awarded a contract in the amount of approximately $911,000 in November, and the project is scheduled to be completed by June 30.
