Southern Ohio Veterans Memorial Highway Groundbreaking
Who: Ohio Lt. Governor Mary Taylor, representatives from the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Portsmouth Gateway Group, along with local officials from the Scioto County community.
What: Ceremonial groundbreaking for the Southern Ohio Veterans Memorial Highway (S.R. 823, or the Portsmouth Bypass) project in Scioto County.
Where: Sunshine Church of Christ, 20 Barklow Road, Minford, Ohio. The event will be held outside, in front of the church, which is located off S.R. 335 and Barklow Road.
When: Wednesday, June 24, 11 a.m.
The Southern Ohio Veterans Memorial Highway is the Ohio Department of Transportation’s first public-private partnership and the state’s single, largest earthwork project to date. As construction gets under way, ODOT and the Portsmouth Gateway Group will hold a ceremonial groundbreaking to mark this major milestone in ODOT’s history.
