State Route 286 To Undergo Resurfacing In Brown County
Chillicothe - Preparations are under way for a two-lane resurfacing project on state Route 286 in northern Brown County.
According to Ohio Department of Transportation District 9 Deputy Director James Brushart, construction will get under way early next week, with site preparations and milling operations beginning Monday, August 4.
“With 48 preservation projects on tap in District 9 this year, our construction department has a busy season, and resurfacing projects such as this do much to maintain and preserve the integrity of a given route,” said Brushart.
The 8.37-mile project extends from the Clinton County to the Highland County line and includes making necessary repairs to the route and overlaying the pavement with asphalt.
The Shelly Company of Thornville, Ohio, was awarded a contract in the amount of $778,506 to complete the resurfacing project. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane in each direction, and the project is scheduled to be completed by October 31, 2008.
