Temporary Lane Restrictions Scheduled For U.S. 23
Chillicothe (Monday, November 2, 2015) – Additional lane restrictions will be in place later this month on U.S. Route 23 in Scioto County as part of the Southern Ohio Veterans Memorial Highway construction project.
On Monday, November 16, crews from the Portsmouth Joint Venture (PJV) will close the driving lane of northbound U.S. 23 just north of Lucasville to place barrier wall along the roadway’s shoulder where interchange construction is under way. Then, on Monday, November 23, the PJV crews will close the passing lanes of both north and southbound U.S. 23 temporarily to place barrier wall along the median.
The single-day, temporary restrictions are scheduled to be in effect from approximately 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days, with traffic should be restored to two lanes in either direction by early evening hours.

The Southern Ohio Veterans Memorial Highway is the department’s first P3 project and the largest, modern earthwork project to be constructed in the state’s history.
