Three Brown County Routes Tapped For Resurfacing
Chillicothe - Construction on will get under way soon in Brown County as separate contractors prepare for a set of resurfacing projects on three different routes.
According to Ohio Department of Transportation District 9 Deputy Director James Brushart, crews from Brown County Construction will be paving an 8.36-mile section of S.R. 763 this summer, while crews from Barrett Paving will be resurfacing portions of S.R. 505 and S.R. 756.
“These projects are a part of the nearly $9 million construction season we have taking place in Brown County this year, and while contractors and maintenance crews are working to preserve the integrity of our routes, they are also working for the safety of the traveling public,” said Brushart. “Therefore, we appreciate the patience of all motorists when crews are at work.”
Contractors will be paving S.R. 763 between County Road 49 (Bradysville Road) near the community of Heitt and state Route 125. And in a separate project, contractors will be resurfacing S.R. 505 between its junction with S.R. 756 and S.R. 125, as well as S.R. 756 from the Clermont County line to S.R. 505.
Both projects are slated to begin the week of June 15, and throughout construction, traffic on all routes will be maintained in one lane with the use of flaggers when crews are at work.
The Brown County Construction Company of Aberdeen, Ohio, was awarded a contract in the amount of $939,482 to resurface state Route 763, while Barrett Paving of Cincinnati, Ohio, was awarded a contract in the amount of $760,486 to resurface state routes 505 and 756. Both projects have a scheduled completion date of October 31, 2009.
