Restrictions Set For U.S. 52 In New Boston
Sewer Project Moves Into Next Phase
(Friday, September 26, 2014) – Lane
restrictions and street closures will go into effect next week on U.S. Route 52,
state Route 139 and Lakeview Avenue in the village of New Boston, as
contractors for the village move into the next phase of construction for a wastewater
line installation project.
On Monday, September
29, the eastbound lanes of U.S. 52 will be closed between Glenwood Avenue and
Clayport Street, and two-way traffic will be diverted to the westbound lanes of
U.S. 52 by way of Glenwood Avenue.
In addition to the
restrictions on U.S. 52, Lakeview and Park avenues will be subject to alternating
closure between the U.S. 52 East and West intersections. Initially, Lakeview
Avenue will be closed, and motorists will be detoured via northbound Park
Avenue. Once Lakeview is reopened, Park Avenue will be closed between the
U.S. 52 intersections, and motorists will be detoured via U.S. 52, Center
Street and Glenwood Avenue.
Currently, it is
anticipated that this phase of the project will be completed in mid-fall. Motorists
are advised to expect periods of delay within the construction zone, and they
are also reminded of the need for additional caution in the work zones.
