U.S. 23 South Closed Due to Accident
Chillicothe (Tuesday, June 12, 2012) – U.S. Route 23 South has been closed at the Chillicothe bypass this afternoon due to a multi-vehicle accident.
The southbound lanes of the route are closed between the Eastern Avenue and Three Locks Road exits on the city’s south side, and motorists are being detoured via Eastern Avenue to Southern Avenue to state Route 104 (South Bridge Street) and back to U.S. 23; local motorists may also detour via South Bridge Street to U.S. 23.
The closure is anticipated to be in effect throughout most of the afternoon while law enforcement and emergency response crews work to clear the scene.
