U.S. 35 Grade Separation Project Moves Into Next Phase
Keystone Furnace To Be Closed Temporarily For Reconstruction
Chillicothe (Friday, July 24, 2015) – As a grade separation project over U.S. Route 35 in Jackson County moves into the next phase of construction, contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will impart a temporary closure at County Road 9 (Keystone Furnace Road).
On Tuesday, July 28, Keystone Furnace Road will be closed between U.S. 35 and Industry Drive/Clary Road for reconstruction. The closure will be in effect through mid August, and while it is closed, motorists will be detoured by way of McCarty Lane, Acey Avenue the new overpass and Industry Drive.
Motorists are advised to use additional caution in the construction zone and through the detours established for the maintenance of traffic plan.
The total project includes the construction of an overpass to relocate the intersection of McCarty Lane and Keystone Furnace Road with U.S. 35, as well as relocating Industry Drive, McCarty Lane and Acey Avenue and constructing a roundabout at the McCarty Lane and Acey Avenue intersection.
Beaver Excavating was awarded a contract for approximately $4.86 million to construct the grade separation, and the project is anticipated to be completed in late summer.
