Brown-62 Culvert Replacement Postponed
Chillicothe (Thursday, March 02, 2017) – Due to this week’s inclement weather, crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Brown County Highway Maintenance Facility have postponed a culvert replacement project on U.S. Route 62.
Crews were scheduled to undertake a single-day culvert replacement project on U.S. 62 between Township Road 203 (Stivers Road) and the Highland County line today, March 2. However, damage caused by this week’s storms is requiring additional cleanup work throughout the county.
The culvert replacement is now scheduled for Thursday, March 9, weather permitting, and the route will be reduced to one lane from approximately 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Throughout the day, traffic will be maintained in one lane by flaggers; however, motorists may encounter some intermittent periods of delay while crews are at work.
In addition to this project, a culvert replacement project is scheduled to take place on S.R. 353 on Monday, March 6. Crews will close the route at the 3.44-mile marker, between T.R. 24 (W. Fork Road) and T.R. 30 (West Road), and the single-day closure will be in effect from approximately 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. While the route is closed, motorists will be detoured by way of S.R. 125 and U.S. 62.
