U.S. 62 Now Open Following Culvert Replacement
Chillicothe (Friday, June 26, 2015) – Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Highland County Highway Maintenance Facility have completed a culvert replacement project on U.S. Route 62, reopening the route one week ahead of schedule.
U.S. 62 was closed Monday, June 22, approximately one-half mile north of the community of New Market in order for crews to replace a pair of deteriorated culverts at the 9.16-mile marker. The project site was between County Road 5 (New Market Road) and Township Road 217 (Warlamount Road), near T.R. 219 (Miller Lane).
Although the route was scheduled to be closed for up to 11 days, the maintenance crews were able to expedite the project and reopen the route to traffic at approximately 2:15 p.m. today.
