U.S. 68 To Be Closed For Culvert Replacement
Chillicothe (Tuesday, May 19, 2015) – Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Brown County Highway Maintenance Facility have scheduled a culvert replacement project on U.S. Route 68 next month, requiring a one-week 10-day closure of the route.
U.S. 68 will be closed Monday, June 1, between the communities of Fivemile and Chasetown in order for crews to replace a deteriorated culvert near the 38.5-mile marker. More specifically, the project site is between County Road 65 (Vilvens Road) and C.R. 105 (McCafferty Road), approximately one mile south of S.R. 131
The closure will go into effect at approximately 8 a.m. Monday, and it remain in effect until 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 10. While the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via S.R. 286 and U.S. 50 at Fayetteville.
