U.S. 68 Turn-Lane Addition Project Nearing Completion
New Signals Set For Operation

Chillicothe (Wednesday, August 27, 2014) – A set of new traffic signals at U.S. Route 68 and state Route 32 in Brown County will soon be in operation as a turn-lane addition project nears completion.

Signals, which have been installed on U.S. 68 at its junction with the interchange in Mt. Orab as part of the turn-lane project, will be turned to flashing mode beginning today, August 27. The signals will then be activated to stop-and-go operation on Thursday, September 4, following a motorist advisory and testing period.

The total project included the construction of left-turn lanes on U.S. 68 at both S.R. 32 ramp intersections, as well as the construction of a right-turn lane from the S.R. 32 East off-ramp at the U.S. 68 intersection, signalization and signal coordination.

BUDS, Inc., headquartered in Nashport, Ohio, was awarded a contract for approximately $1.82 million to construct the project, and all associated work is anticipated to be completed by the end of September.
