U.S. 50 Tapped For Resurfacing
Chillicothe - Construction on will get under way soon in western Ross County as contractors prepare for a resurfacing project on U.S. Route 50.
According to Ohio Department of Transportation District 9 Deputy Director James Brushart, crews from the Shelly Company will be paving a 5.03-mile section of U.S. 50 from the Ross-Highland County line to the Bainbridge corporation limit.
“This project is part of a large construction season we have taking place in Ross County this year, and while contractors and maintenance crews are working to preserve the integrity of our routes, they are also working for the safety of the traveling public,” said Brushart.
Construction is scheduled to get under way Monday, September 14, and while crews are at work, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the aid of flaggers.
The Shelly Company of Thornville, Ohio, was awarded a contract in the amount of $916,613 to resurface U.S. 50.
