Updated Schedule For Pike-23/DOE Transports
Columbus (Friday, November 2, 2012) – With a series of equipment moves from the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Portsmouth site at Piketon nearing a close, the final phase of the overall operation has been rescheduled.
Currently, the final two moves to transport condensers from the DOE facility to Columbus Equipment are now scheduled to take place Friday, November 9, and Thursday, November 15, weather permitting.
While the operation is under way, U.S. Route 23 North will be closed temporarily between the off-ramp at the DOE Facility and the entrance of Columbus Equipment, immediately south of the interchange.
The moves are to be conducted between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. each day, and northbound U.S. 23 motorists should expect delays of 10 to 15 minutes between these hours. Southbound traffic should not be affected by this operation.
