Utility Work May Cause Signal Outages On Adams-32
Chillicothe (Monday, April 4, 2016) – Utility work by American Electric Power may cause temporary outages tonight at two signalized intersections on state Route 32 in Adams County.
At midnight tonight, crews from AEP will undertake maintenance work that will require power outages to customers throughout the area for approximately 30 minutes. As a result of their project, the traffic signals at the intersection of S.R. 32 and S.R. 247 at Seaman and S.R. 32 and S.R. 136 at Winchester may be affected or disrupted temporarily during the outage.
Currently, the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9’s signal electricians plan to have the signals operating on a back-up generator. Although the signals should be in full, stop-and-go (red-yellow-green) operation during the outage, it is possible that the signals may go dark or set to flashing mode while utility work is under way.
Motorists are advised to use additional caution throughout the S.R. 32 corridor during the outage. It is anticipated that the power will be fully restored by 12:30 a.m., following AEP’s maintenance work.
