Chillicothe (Wednesday, February 10, 2016) – U.S. Route 23 in Ross
County will be restricted next week for utility work by American
Beginning Monday, February 15, and continuing through Thursday, February 18, utility
crews will be installing new transmission lines along U.S. 23, just south of
the state Route 207 interchange, and throughout the week, traffic will be reduced
to one lane in each direction.
On Monday, however, U.S. 23 will also be subject to
periods of short-term closure in order for crews to pull the transmission lines
across the highway. The temporary periods of closure will be in effect at any
time between 8 a.m. and noon, and traffic will be controlled and maintained
by the utility company and law enforcement personnel.
As the intermittent periods of closure will be for a
limited duration, there
will be no posted detour; however, motorists are advised to
expect short-term delays for up to 10 minutes. They are also reminded to
exercise additional caution in the work zone.
