Utility Work To Require Restrictions On U.S. 52
Chillicothe (Thursday, June 16, 2016) – U.S. Route 52 in Scioto County will be restricted intermittently next week for utility work by American Electric Power.
Beginning Monday, June 20, and continuing through Friday, June 24, utility crews will be pulling wires and lines across U.S. 52 for tower relocation as part of the state Route 823 construction project.
Intermittently throughout the week, U.S. 52 will be subject to short-term periods closure between the S.R. 140 and Wheelersburg/River Road exits while crews pull the transmission lines across the highway. The temporary periods of closure will be in effect at any time each day during daytime, business hours, and traffic will be controlled and maintained in a rolling blockade by the utility company and law enforcement personnel.
As the periods of closure will be for a limited duration, there will be no posted detour; however, motorists are advised to expect delays for up to 15 minutes. They are also reminded to exercise additional caution in the work zone.
