Weather Impacts Affecting Culvert Replacement Project
Chillicothe (Friday, July 24, 2015) – Due to weather-related impacts, a culvert replacement project on state Route 753 in Highland County has been delayed.
Ohio Department of Transportation maintenance crews are replacing a series of culverts on Ohio- 753, between S.R. 506 and S.R. 41. While crews have installed the first pipe that is situated north of Township Road 258A (Couch Road), their efforts to install the remaining culverts between Couch Road and T.R. 344A (Eubanks Road) have been hampered as a result of recent inclement weather.
Last weekend’s heavy rains, which brought about flooding and a washout, have left the ground saturated. Although crews have been working to dewater and dry the area where the culverts are to be installed, the project has been delayed one week, and the closure will now be in effect through Friday, August 7.
While the route is closed, motorists will continue to be detoured via S.R. 41, S.R. 124 and S.R. 506.
