District 9 Weekly Travel Report
For the week ending February 28, 2014: The following traffic advisory includes road construction and major maintenance projects requiring lane restrictions and/or closures along the state and federal highway system within ODOT District 9. For statewide information regarding road conditions affected by  weather, construction, maintenance or accidents, visit ODOT on the web at www.Ohgo.com

Adams County
There are no significant lane restrictions or closures on the state highway system due to construction or major maintenance projects.
Brown County

A slide repair project on U.S. 52 will get under way once weather permits. Contractors will be repairing a rock slide at the 3.58-mile marker, between the Brown-Clermont County line and Higginsport. Crews will be working as weather permits, and traffic will be maintained in two lanes with temporary pavement and flaggers. Motorists are advised of lane shifts and possible restrictions. The project is anticipated to be completed by mid-summer. (#13-0601)
Highland County
There are no significant lane restrictions or closures on the state highway system due to construction or major maintenance projects.
Jackson County
There are no significant lane restrictions or closures on the state highway system due to construction or major maintenance projects.
Lawrence County
As part of the Ironton-Russell Bridge replacement, a section of First Street in Ironton will be closed for crews to set structural steel for the Ohio approach. The closure will be in effect for approximately two weeks; however, progression of this phase of the project will be contingent upon the weather.
The Ironton-Russell Bridge replacement project is under way, with work being conducted off affected roadways. In addition to localized closures affecting downtown traffic, motorists are advised of equipment entering and exiting the work zone in Ironton and at the U.S. 23 viaduct in Kentucky. (#11-0628)
Pike County
S.R. 32 is reduced to one lane in the westbound direction at the 20.24-mile marker for a slide repair project. The project site is situated between the CSX Railroad underpass (east of Beaver Creek Road) and the Darst Road/Beaver Pike intersection. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in at least one lane in each direction, although eastbound traffic should not be affected. The project is scheduled to be completed in late spring 2014. (#13-0530)
A slip repair project is under way on S.R. 335, just south of C.R. 56 (Carrs Run Road), approximately four miles north of T.R. 522 (Overly Road). Throughout construction, the route will be reduced to one lane, and traffic will be maintained by temporary traffic signals. The project is scheduled to be completed in early summer 2014. (#13-0503)
A slip repair project is scheduled to start February 17 on S.R. 104, at the 4.6-mile marker, just north of C.R. 21 (Sunfish Creek Road). Crews will be placing rock channel protection along the slope, and during the first phase of construction, there should be little impact to traffic. The project is anticipated to be completed in early summer. (#13-0560)
Ross County
An intersection improvement/turn lane addition project on Main Street (U.S. 50) in Chillicothe is nearing completion. On Monday, February 24, crews will be completing signalization work at the Main and High Street intersection, weather permitting. Although traffic will be maintained with flaggers throughout the day, motorists may encounter intermittent periods of delay. (#13-0388)
Scioto County

U.S. 52 is now open to two lanes of traffic in each direction between the S.R. 239 interchange and the Scioto River bridges at the Portsmouth corporation limit following the first phase of a major rehabilitation project. While the project has been suspended for the cold-weather months, work will resume in the spring when contractors return to the site to complete paving operations. (#12-3008)
 
U.S. 23 South is reduced to one, 12-foot lane (southbound direction only) at the Portsmouth corporation limit for a slip repair. The project site is located between Selma/Richard Street and Lowry Hollow Road. Northbound traffic should not be affected by this project, and all work is scheduled to be completed by early summer 2014. (#13-0547)
