Widening Project Under Way On Jackson-93
Chillicothe - Motorists on state Route 93 in Jackson County may encounter temporary delays in the coming weeks as a minor widening project gets under way at Jackson.
According to Ohio Department of Transportation - District 9 Deputy Director James Brushart, crews from Mark Allard Excavation of South Webster, Ohio, have begun operations just south of the city, where they will be widening a section of Ohio-93 by adding a two-way left turn lane.
The project site is situated between the 14.35-mile marker near the Jackson Shortline Railroad and County Road 11 (Four Mile Road) and the 15.05-mile marker, just inside the city’s corporation limit. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of flaggers as needed; however, motorists are advised of periodic delays.
Allard Excavation was awarded a contract in the amount of $1.4 million to complete the widening project, and the scheduled completion date is October 31, 2009.
