Winter Storm Hits; Crews Take To The Roads
Chillicothe (Monday, November 17, 2014 – 2:30 a.m.) – With the arrival of the area's first winter-weather storm of the 2014-2015 season, crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation - District 9 facilities have been dispatched to treat the state and federal highway system for snow and ice.
Currently, the National Weather Service is calling for three to five inches of snow through Monday morning for much of the District 9 region, with lighter accumulations in the southeastern area of the district.
Crews will be working through the overnight and morning hours to apply materials and plow roadways as needed. As always, ODOT reminds motorists to exercise additional caution when traveling during inclement weather. In addition to reducing their speed, drivers need to allow additional travel time and maintain a safe following distance behind other vehicles.
ODOT District 9 includes Adams, Brown, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross and Scioto counties.
