PROPOSED TRAFFIC PATTERN CHANGE

In an effort to improve traffic flow and safety, the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9 has limited turning movements at the intersection of U.S. Route 23 and County Road 275 (Crouse Chapel Road) in Ross County, Ohio.

 Project Description

The project is to limit turning movements to and from U.S. 23 and Crouse Chapel Road by closing portions of the at-grade intersection.

On U.S. 23 North, the left-turn lane will be closed, prohibiting left-turn movements from northbound U.S. 23 to westbound Crouse Chapel Road. In addition, left-turn movements from eastbound Crouse Chapel Road to northbound U.S. 23 and from westbound Crouse Chapel Road to southbound U.S. 23 will also be prohibited.

Left-turn movements from U.S. 23 South to Crouse Chapel Road East will be permitted, as well as right-in/right-out only turning movements at the intersection.

The project includes installing delineators on U.S. 23 South and applying transverse pavement markings on U.S. 23 North. Additional pavement markings to restrict traffic will be applied on Crouse Chapel Road, and ‘No Left Turn/Right Turn Only’ signs will also be installed.
