Hocking County is located in the southeast portion of the state. U.S. Route 56, and State Route 180 cross the county east and west, and U.S. Route 33, and State Routes 93, 328, 374, and 664 run north and south. The Hocking River flows through Hocking County.
Hocking County is best known for its "Hocking Hills" containing thick forests, cascading water falls, deep rocky gorges, and amazing rock formations. Within the Hocking Hills State Park system are Old Man’s Cave, Ash Cave, Cedar Falls, Conkle’s Hollow, Rock House, and Cantwell Cliffs. Other attractions in Hocking County include Hocking Valley Scenic Railway; Lake Logan State Park; Natural Rock Bridge; Sand Run Lake; and Wayne National Forest.
