ODOT Invests Money To Upgrade Rest Areas
MEIGS COUNTY (Friday, February 24 , 2012) – Officials with District 10 of The Ohio Department of Transportation are proud to announce the modernization of the rest areas on U.S. 33 in Meigs County.
“Modernization of these facilities is a much needed improvement to the U.S. 33 Connector especially since these are the first rest areas north of Charleston, West Virginia,” said T. Steve Williams, District 10 Deputy Director.
ODOT officials worked side by side with the Meigs County Commissioners to get this project started.
“We couldn’t be happier to finally see this upgrade happen,” said Tom Anderson, Meigs County Commissioner.
Both sites will be modernized with running water for faucets and toilets.
The project is will cost approximately $400,000 and is scheduled to sell this summer.
Construction is scheduled to begin mid to late summer 2012 and ODOT approximates the project should be completed by late fall 2012.
