US 50 westbound exit ramp to CR 25 / Stimson Ave is NOW OPEN
Update - Monday, August 10
This week crews will continue to place the intermediate asphalt courses (US 50 Westbound) and will also be placing asphalt at the specified "asphalt under guardrail" locations. Aggregate base and asphalt base will also be placed for the phase IA construction area which began last week.
The US 33 Eastbound to East State Street ramp will be closed from 7:00 PM - 6:00 AM starting Thursday August 13, 2009, and will continue until all joint repair work is completed on the ramp. The City of Athens has opened the Stimson Ave./CR 25 Exit to be used as the alternate route into Athens.
*Stimson Ave./CR 25 Exit is open to US-33 Eastbound traffic, but will not be open to US-50 Westbound traffic for 2-3 weeks.
Update - Friday August 7
Crews are continuing to place the asphalt concrete intermediate courses throughout the length of the project. Also, US-50 Eastbound Entrance Ramp from Stimson Ave. shall be closed beginning Tuesday August 4 for Joint Repair.
DETOUR: Stimson Ave. to US-33 westbound to East State Street, to US-33 eastbound, then to US-50 eastbound.
Update - Monday, July 27
Motorists will see crews paving the intermediate asphalt courses, pouring approach slabs, and pouring the phase I and phase IA portions of the deck overlay on Bridge at the Stimson Ave exit ramp
Important Information: There will be a lane closure in each direction on US Route 50 to allow for a six inch asphalt overlay project. The project is located from Albany Rd to CR 52. The closure will be approximately 4 miles and will end October 2010. There is a 12'0 width restriction
Beginning June 15 to August 15 - US 50 Westbound exit ramp to CR 25 (Rock Riffle Road) and Stimson Avenue will be closed to allow for concrete joint repairs

Project Overview: US 50 is a primary route for travelers, local commuters, and transportation vehicles through southeastern Ohio and West Virginia. The project is a four-Lane minor rehabilitaion using break and seat treatment on concrete with an asphalt overlay, which includes joint repair on ramps, guardrail and bridge repairs.
