US 50/US 33 Athens, Ohio

 

Update - November 2010

Currently there are no restrictions

Update - May 2010

Construction has resumed and motorists can expect lane restrictions at the following locations:

     1.) US Route 33 near East State St. to US 33/US 50 junction

     2.) US Route 50 near Blackburn Rd to US 50.US 33 junction

     3.) US Route 50 from Junction of US 33 to Della

Update - November 2009

All lanes of traffic are now open - construction will continue spring 2010

Project Overview:  US 50 is a primary route for travelers, local commuters, and transportation vehicles through southeastern Ohio and West Virginia.  The project is a four-Lane minor rehabilitaion using break and seat treatment on concrete with an asphalt overlay, which includes joint repair on ramps, guardrail and bridge repairs.

Project Benefits:  Improved safety with new guardrail, shoulder expansion, joint repairs on bridges and striping.  The new asphalt will provide a more efficient and smooth ride as well as extend pavement life on two major routes in southeastern Ohio.

Project Cost: $13,853,553

Construction Times: 7 am to 10 pm
