Interstate 70 westbound lanes open to traffic
Jacksontown (Friday, December 31, 2010) – As part of the Interstate 70 major reconstruction project in western Belmont County the westbound lanes on Interstate 70 have been opened to traffic today, Friday, December 31, 2010. Eastbound traffic will be maintained in eastbound lanes.
The westbound rest area will open in early January and the eastbound rest area is scheduled to open Fall 2011.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
