ODOT seeks comments on U.S. Route 62 culvert repair project in Millersburg
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Tuesday, January 08, 2013) – The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 is proposing a culvert repair project (PID 86875) on U.S. Route 62 just south of Glen Dr. in Millersburg, Holmes County.
The culvert is over an unnamed tributary to Sand Run and located directly south of CR 58. The project will rehabilitate the existing metal plate arch culvert by lining the pipe and placing approximately 2,840 square feet of rock channel protection at its outlet end to extend its useful life.
Construction is anticipated to begin in the spring of next year. The project will involve no pavement or roadway work. Traffic will be maintained during construction. No new right of way will be required to complete the project.
ODOT is seeking comments from the public about the social, environmental, and economic impacts of this proposed project. Environmental impacts include those involving archeological, architectural and ecological resources, hazardous materials and the general location of the project.
Written comments concerning the project may be mailed to the Ohio Department of Transportation, District 11, Attention: Thomas E. Stratton, 2201 Reiser Avenue SE, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663. ODOT District 11 can also be contacted by telephone at (330) 339-6633. All comments must be submitted by February 8, 2013.
