ODOT Seeks Comments on SR 152 Landslide Repair Project in Jefferson County
NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO (January 23, 2009) --The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 is proposing a landslide stabilization project on State Route 152 in Jefferson County just south of Township Road 119. This project will include the excavation and reconstruction of the existing hillside embankment. Additionally, an existing mine shaft in the hillside will be removed and stabilized with fill.
Approximately 3.4 acres of wooded hillside will be cleared to facilitate construction. Construction is anticipated to begin in this fall. Traffic will be maintained during construction. New right of way will be required to complete the project.
ODOT is seeking comments from the public about the social, environmental and economic impacts of the proposed project. Environmental impacts include impacts associated with architectural and ecological resources, hazardous materials and the general nature of the project.
