ODOT Seeks Comments on State Route 800 Bridge Project in Belmont County

New Philadelphia, Ohio (Tuesday, February 2, 2010)The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 is proposing improvements to the State Route 800 bridge over Interstate 70 at Hendrysburg in Belmont County.

The proposed work involves replacing the existing superstructure with a new, reinforced concrete deck, steel beams, and pier caps. No right of way will be required for the repairs.

Construction may begin late fall of this year. The roadway will be closed during construction, and a detour will be provided.

ODOT is seeking comments from the public about the social, environmental and economic impacts of the proposed project. Environmental impacts include impacts associated with architectural and ecological resources, hazardous materials and the general location of the project.
