JEFFERSON COUNTY – Blasting is scheduled
for Wednesday, February 14th, between 11 AM and 4 PM along State
Route 7 at Rush Run.
A giant boulder slowed progress last
August on the slope stabilization project along SR 7. Expert slope constructors
have assisted ODOT to stabilize the outer portions of the failure area for the
last few months, removing loose material where necessary.
SR 7 traffic will be stopped during
blasting just as it has been in the past – both north and southbound directions
for 15 minutes while blasting occurs.
Motorists should plan ahead to avoid
delays. ODOT’s main goal continues to be safety while minimizing the public’s

but officials are hopeful that once the hazard is removed the roadway can be
restored to four lanes, and paved in the spring.
