U.S. Route 62 to be restricted for tree trimming work
ODOT clearing canopy over roadway and performing right of way maintenance
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, February 20, 2017) – Starting Monday, February 27th, U.S. Route 62 will be closed during daytime hours for two weeks between Brinkhaven and Stillwell in Holmes County for tree trimming work.
Between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, U.S. 62 will be closed from County Road 10 to State Route 206 for tree trimming and vegetation management work performed by ODOT maintenance forces.
Beginning at the intersection of U.S. 62 and SR 205 in Danville, traffic will be detoured north on SR 205 to SR 514 north to SR 520 south back to U.S. 62, and reverse.
ODOT’s Holmes County crew will be using a “SkyTrim” unit for canopy removal and right of way clearing and maintenance. Work at this location is expected to be completed by Friday, March 10. Motorists should plan ahead to avoid delays.
ODOT District 11 Deputy Director Lloyd MacAdam said, “Clearing overhead canopy from our roads improves our pavement longevity and increases motorist safety in the winter.”
The Ohio Department of Transportation maintains the state's largest man-made asset – the transportation system.
