State Route 751 to be closed next week at Stone Creek for bridge replacement
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Tuesday, February 22, 2011) – State Route 751 will be closed to traffic for 120 days at Stone Creek in Tuscarawas County next Monday, February 28th, for a bridge replacement.
Beginning at the Interstate 77 Interchange, SR 751 traffic will be detoured south on I-77 to U.S. 36 west back to SR 751, and reverse.
Both north and southbound on and off ramps at I-77 will remain open throughout construction to County Road 53 and Township Road 219.
ODOT's contractor, Dennison Bridge Inc., from Dennison, Ohio, will be replacing an existing bridge over an unnamed tributary of Stone Creek and an abandoned railroad bed with two, three-sided box culverts.
Work was completed last year on the SR 751 bridge located over the interstate. The total project cost, including both structures, is $2.7 million, and the completion date is June 15, 2011.
