State Route 212 to be restricted Monday near Zoar for tree removal
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Friday, February 26, 2010) – State Route 212 will be restricted for about a month, beginning Monday, March 1st, between Michael Lane and the Norfolk & Western railroad bridge at Zoar in Tuscarawas County for tree removal in preparation for a landslide repair project.
Eco Tree Services, from Lorain, Ohio, will be removing trees necessary for construction, beginning Monday, March 1, 2010, for about four weeks.
SR 212 will only be restricted during daytime hours. During this work, two-way traffic will be maintained in one lane with flaggers and temporary traffic signals.
ODOT officials anticipate construction on the steel H-Pile retaining wall to begin sometime in May. The 1,746 feet long wall will be encased in concrete. Construction will also include the replacement of approximately 1,790 feet of pavement and guardrail on the eastbound lane of SR 212. Completion date for the project will be this November.
